Massimiliano Allegri is one of the favorites to overtake the Arsenal managerial position this summer. His fresh approach would help them challenge again.

Most Arsenal fans are aware that a more defensive appointment is needed. The Gunners star-studded front four is almost perfect, but the defensive side could use some attention. Massimiliano Allegri would not only fix our extremely suspect defense but also keep our football entertaining.

Allegri would demand  defensive appointments

One reason for Allegri’s Juventus success comes down to his consistent back line. Players like Benatia, Chiellini and Rugani are as tactically aware as they are for a reason.

On a contrast, Arsenal’s defense are the kings of inconsistency. Holding, Chambers and Mavropanos are too young to start week in and week out. Koscielny’s “Achilles heel” is ironically his Achilles heel and Mustafi can have a performance that warrants a 10/10 masterclass one week and than a 2/10 disaster class the next.

The Italian master tactician specializes in having an organized as well as consistent back line, something Arsenal haven’t had for years.

Egotistical players would not run the club anymore

In the modern day game players are basically the manager’s as well as owner’s bosses. An outstanding problem at Arsenal right now is players like Mesut Ozil and a few others are allowed to do more or less whatever they want.

However, despite players having managers in their pockets in most cases, Allegri has a different ideology. If a player fails to obey him, he will drop them to the bench and possibly even sell them. Allegri controversially sold Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan and was given an abundance of flack for it.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Despite the moot transaction, Allegri prevailed winning the domestic double for a fourth consecutive time leaving Bonucci empty handed, beating his team in the final 4:0. Allegri is the no nonsense man that would take Arsenal to the next level.

Fans would feel appreciated again

After every game at home, Juventus thank their fans whether it’s a win, draw or even a loss. At the Emirates, Arsenal fans are lucky to see 2 or 3 players clap the fans and thank them for their support.

Allegri, as well as most modern day managers know that fans are the blood that runs through the veins of any club. With all of this being said, it not necessarily the case that Arsene Wenger didn’t care about the fans.

Wenger was often labeled as “too nice” and seemed as though he would not force the players to acknowledge the overpaying Emirates faithful. Allegri would not hesitate to give players a much needed “blow dryer” treatment if they failed to do so. Allegri’s style may not be as “sexy” as  Wenger’s beautiful tiki taka football, but it gets the job done.

The next man to overtake Wenger has some massive shoes to fill. The Juventus man would have no problem handling the pressure that Wenger’s legacy would put on him. Allegri would fix many and maybe even most of the problems at Arsenal but is he the boards cup of tea? In a few weeks we should have the answer.
