Arsenal: 3 players from Unai Emery’s past that would help exponentially
Unai Emery has managed a profusion of fantastic players that would help Arsenal’s weak points very nicely. Will any of his former players follow him?
Unai Emery has coached an abundance of extremely talented players during his managerial career. Players like Neymar and Edinson Cavani only touch the tip of the iceberg. There are many individuals’ Emery could bring in that would solidify Arsenal’s lackluster squad.
3. Steven N’Zonzi
One player that the Spanish manager pushed to be a superstar is Steven N’Zonzi. The French, destroyer has been leveling La Liga’s attacking players for the past three seasons with Sevilla.
Emery changed N’Zonzi from a typical, hard-hitting Stoke City player to one of the most coveted defensive midfielders in Europe. The Gunners have been after him for years and it is quite possible that their past together could finally see N’Zonzi’s proposed arrival come to fruition.

2. Marquinhos
Marquinhos is a very highly rated Brazilian center back that would be a perfect acquisition to fix Arsenal’s back line. Unfortunately many others clubs, such as Real Madrid are interested in him as well. The 24 year old defender has a ridiculously low, estimated price tag of about £27 million pounds.
With Marquinhos, the price would not be the issue, it would be the other parties interested. With clubs like Real Madrid lurking and the possibility of a new, lucrative contract from PSG possibly on the horizon, would he choose Arsenal? Most likely not.

1. Julian Draxler
Along with a defensive midfielder and a center back, another much needed position is an out and out winger. There are not many wingers in the game better than Julian Draxler. The 24-year-old German has struggled for game time since joining the French capital in 2017. Arsenal have been after Draxler’s signature for years and despite the pair’s shaky relationship, it could still happen.
Emery was forced to cast Draxler aside with the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. This frayed the relationship between the two. With that being said, Draxler would most likely be a starter for the Gunners due to the lack of width within the squad.
Emery has left all of the clubs he has been a part of as a man who loves football. The Spanish tactician’s long-lasting impression of strictness helps to attract many players, but also pushes plenty away.
