Arsenal: Alexis Sanchez warning sign must still be a factor
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez expected a lot more out of each other, but regardless, the warning he gave us must still be considered.
Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez have been apart for nearly six months now and honestly, most of us have forgotten about him. We’re thankful that he is gone because the players we got in his stead provided far more than he did.
But that doesn’t mean that he should be completely out of the team’s mind. The Chilean gave us a lot to think about and, going forward, the warning signs he provided must still be a factor in transfer windows.
While no two players are the same, the same general principles still apply to all of them. For instance – if you don’t win big enough trophies, most big-time players will look to “better opportunities.”

For as much as Alexis’s exit sucked, it’s the same thing we have seen from so many players in the past, and it’s a keen reminder of what is expected of the club when a player throws his lot in with the club.

They expect so much more, and they should. Because this club is capable of delivering it. But for as much as we thought we were passed selling our key players to rivals, we’ve only gone and done it in January. Meaning that, if the Gunners can’t put things together under Unai Emery, we suddenly run that risk again.
Because even without Champions League football, the Gunners till boast such a healthy supply of superstars, but now and going into the future.
That isn’t the only warning sign that Arsenal need to follow though. They need to remember what is important to the club. Alexis Sanchez was right for the club for awhile, but his toxic attitude was palpable to fans. This is a team that thrives on chemistry and togetherness, and Alexis disrupted that philosophy.
No matter how good a player is, their mentality in the game has to be understood, because we don’t have the financial resources to keep up with the other clubs (even though we should), so if our primary weapon – the chemsitry – is disrupted, well, we’re kind of screwed.

This is the first major transfer window since Alexis left. We’ve improved since then. But there is still along way to go to make up for all the things that happened while Alexis was here. On both sides of the spectrum.
