7. Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Selling your best player is rarely a smart move. But trading your best player for a better player, which, at this early stage, is what Arsenal did when they swapped Alexis Sanchez for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January, is a far shrewder move.

Sanchez, for United, featured in 1048 Premier League minutes. He scored two goals and assisted three. Mkhitaryan, in contrast, played in just 797 Premier League minutes, scoring two goals and assisting four. Moreover, he added a goal and an assist in 416 Europa League minutes, whereas Sanchez neither scored or assisted in 165 Champions League minutes.

It is harder to rank Mkhitaryan any higher than this because he only played for half the year. Nevertheless, it was a strong start to his Arsenal career. Though, the less said about that north London derby performance the better.
