6. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Like Mkhitaryan, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived in the January transfer window for a club-record £52 million. With every game, that is looking like an increasing bargain. He scored on his debut against Everton. That was a sign of things to come.

In 1058 Premier League minutes, Aubameyang scored ten goals and assisted four. That is a direct involvement in a goal every 75.57 minutes. That is a remarkable rate for any player. For someone who has never played in the Premier League before, it is even more impressive. It did not take long for the Gabonian to settle in.

Had Aubameyang been with Arsenal for the whole season, it is difficult to argue that he would not have challenged Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah for the Golden Boot. That is what he is in this team to do, and he did it very, very well indeed.
