With long time Arsenal man, Jack Wilshere confirming his exit from the gunners we are in need of a new deep lying, creative midfielder.

The news has recently broke that Jack Wilshere will be leaving Arsenal with his contract expiring in the coming weeks. Fortunately for the Gunners there is an abundance of potential candidates who can take over the empty slot.

A new deep-lying creative midfielder is needed due to the fact that both Santi Cazorla and Wilshere have exited. Here are just a few realistic, potential candidates to fill the void.

Aleksandr Golovin: The ideal Wilshere replacement

CSKA Moscow’s, Golovin has been on the radar for some time now. Before the World Cup even started the Gunner’s were heavily linked with bringing the Russian to the club. Golovin has attracted interest from Chelsea and Italian giants, Juventus as well as Arsenal.

The Russian magician would not be cheap by any means at all. Golovin is the dream signing for most fans but do Arsenal have the financial ability to bring him in?

Ever Banega

The rumors of Argentina’s Ever Banega have picked up some pace recently as it has been reported by various outlets that his representatives visited London to discuss a deal. The 29-year-old Sevilla man has a huge amount of talent as well as experience that would help the midfield exponentially.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

The potential Wilshere replacement, Banega, like most top class players wants first team guarantees. Despite Banega being a fantastic player there is no guarantee he would start week in and week out. The rumored price flying around is somewhere in the margin of around £12 million. This signing would be significantly cheaper than that of Golovin, but would not excite fans nearly as much.

Jean Michael Seri

A player who has been rumored with a switch to Arsenal since the beginning of the transfer window is Seri. With a release clause of £35 million there are many teams interested in signing the Ivorian.

However, interest has seemed to cool from the gunners with Seri said to be in south Italy discussing a possible move to Napoli. Teams such as Chelsea and West Ham are also battling for the coveted midfielder’s signature as well. Seri would bring a vast array of talents such as being a speed demon and creator in the midfield. At £35 million, he would not be as cheap as Banega, but not nearly as expensive as the ideal candidate, Golovin.
