Vlad Dragomir is not keen on kissing his Arsenal career goodbye, and from a club perspective, they should be making promises at this point.

Arsenal dropped the list of all the players that were going to be released from the club the end of the month, and among the ones we were expecting as well as some youngsters that never got a chance, there emerged one name that was a major question – Vlad Dragomir.

Dragomir arrived in 2015 to so much pomp and circumstance that, as we fans usually do, we expected the world out of him.

At 20-years-old, Dragomir has progressed nicely, but he did not feature once for the senior team last season, despite playing in 20 of the U23s matches on route to winning the Premier League 2.

And here he is, supposedly released. Yet, as soon as that list was released, Dragomir came out an issued a statement saying that it certainly is not over.

"It’s true that the contract with Arsenal is over tomorrow. We are in negotiations with the club, I do not know what list they posted on the official site."

Just the fact that he came out and said this at all shows that he has a passion for the club, and the idea of departing from that club doesn’t suit well with him. An offer had reportedly been given to Dragomir but, obviously, he never signed it.

What it may come down to is a direction. So many players are searching for their new direction under Unai Emery and while some are getting those directions and those guarantees, some are not.

If that is what it comes down to, assuming Dragomir is realistic in his wants, then, given the undeniable talent that he has, that we have seen him exude throughout the course of his brief youth career here, why not offer him the assurance of a chance or two in the senior squad?

After all, plenty of youth players found their way into the senior team in the side competitions. That is still a plausible option for Dragomir as the senior club is starting to fill out to make extended stays in these side competitions more realistic, making his chances of making an appearance or two more likely.

Dragomir contributed to seven goals last season, six goals and one assist. It was his most productive season of his young Arsenal career, having accumulated two goals and fives assists prior to that.

Meaning that he isn’t just getting better, he is getting exponentially better.

Not to mention the need for posterity. The Gunners are presently set in the creative department, which Dragomir primary plays, but the current crop isn’t exactly young. So throw the young man an assurance or two, what could it hurt?
