Arsenal signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the here and now and he delivered, but rumor has it the guy is getting better still yet.

More than a couple Arsenal fans were a bit surprised when the club landed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for a record fee. And in the January transfer window, no less. But it happened, and Aubameyang lived up to his glowing resume.

Reputed as one of the best strikers in the game itself, Aubameyang knocked home ten goals all on his own and dropped in several assists as well, just for good measure.

You could say that he was not a typical Arsenal signing. He was not someone that could be molded, given how long he had been a professional and how polished he already was. He was the rare ‘ready-made’ signing that Arsene Wenger avoided like the plague.

And yet, if you’ve been following Aubameyang this summer, you may have noticed that he is getting better still. Perhaps it is only from a physical standpoint, but better is better, no matter what it’s at.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Aubameyang was outspoken about just how tough Unai Emery’s training sessions were, which seems to hint that even in the stellar physical shape that he’s in, he is going to be improving in that regard, which is something to be excited about.

You may have noticed that Aubameyang is rather quick. Well, this is the way to make quick even quicker. And maybe that can apply to other players as well.

Aubameyang is 29-years-old, which is usually past the growth period, especially for a player that has been in the spotlight for as long as him, but Emery clearly knows what he is doing, pushing even his superstars to grow and develop within the club.

There are a lot of players that could use this “kick in the arse” that Aubameyang is getting. Which hopefully means that they are getting it as well. Because if the highest-profile player can get his arse kicked by Emery’s training methods, then so too can everyone else.

Also, Aubameyang gave a nod to Eddie Nketiah and the work that he was putting in, so just another reason to be excited for next season. Eddie!
