Arsenal vs Manchester City: 5 key players to watch
By Josh Sippie
3. Bernd Leno (or Petr Cech)
We don’t know who is going to start in net. I have the inclination that it’s going to be Bernd Leno, but I could totally see Unai Emery opting for experience and sending Cech out there, to sort of calm the nerves at the back. Either one makes total sense.
But whoever it is, they are going to be in the spotlight big time. They are going to face a lot of shots, they are going to have to make a lot of saves, and when a decision has to be made, whether that be in the air, or in pursuit of the ball, they are going to have to be the one to make that decision.
That is where Leno has struggled, and that is where Cech suddenly struggled last year after a career of solid decision making.
This is perhaps the most toe-to-toe battle in the entire Arsenal squad right now and this is the first battle. Whoever starts, they will have their work cut out for them to prove that they belong right where they are. Which is exciting, but it is also something that will have more than a few fans a bit nervous.
Moving on to No. 2.
