Substitutes

7.5. Such a positive performance boxed into 45 minutes. I won’t get into why he isn’t starting, but I will say that once he comes on the pitch, things just change. The focal point of the attack changes in a good way and it just feels like the options have multiplied. Unlucky not to have scored, he had so many good opportunities. Has such a good first touch too. Well played.. SUB. Arsenal. ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE

SUB. Arsenal. LUCAS TORREIRA. 6.2. Torreira’s biggest gift to the team was unlocking the best in Xhaka. With the Uruguayan playing deeper, Xhaka was able to get further forward with more freedom and it worked well. Torreira still has some learning to do regarding how quick the game can move, but he’s getting there.

7.3. Touched the ball ten times and scored with one of them. It was nice to see Welbeck back out there, especially because he was actually really effective with the little time that he had. Plays very similar to Aubameyang, but with more physicality and less everything else (that sounds worse than I intended). Seriously though, a really good cameo.. SUB. Arsenal. DANNY WELBECK
