Arsenal vs FC Vorskla: Predicted starting XI – Bernd Leno time!
By Josh Sippie
No. 10 and Striker
Another duo that I’m slightly torn on, mostly because of who I want to see line up at striker, versus who really needs it. I would love to see Eddie Nketiah starting up front, because it will show faith and confidence in the young man, while reinforcing our belief in him as fans.
But rather than him, I’d be expecting to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is a bit hurting for goals and confidence. Not to mention he doesn’t over-exert himself in any given match, and can stand to use some more gametime, especially if that means playing up front as a striker, a role that he has since lost to Alexandre Lacazette.
Plus, the most important thing, it will reignite his partnership with Mkhitaryan. The Armenian has actually been the guy coming on for Aubameyang in previous matches, meaning that they get zero time to play together.
And then there is Alex Iwobi, who will be starting for sure, maybe not at No. 10, maybe on the wings, but he will be out there. Of all the players in the team, Iwobi should be one of them with the most confidence, given how well he played in the limited capacity that he’s actually had to play.
All in all, this is a strong XI that should be able to conclusively put away any Europa league opposition. But maybe I’m a bit biased.
