3. Aaron Ramsey

The prolific Welshman was not at his best against Newcastle. He wasn’t horrible, but it was certainly his first head-scratcher at the No. 10 spot. I had just been praising him for his budding consistency, which was such a stark contrast to his early years.

That said, he wasn’t necessarily bad, he just wasn’t very good. Plus, I have to imagine that not having a goal or an assist is driving him a bit batty. Nine different players have goals on this team and Ramsey is not one of them. That’s nuts.

Aaron Ramsey can compound on himself sometimes, though, when times get bad. He does get to a point where he’s desperate to score and that can negatively impact his play. Ideally that can easily be resolved with a goal or assist vs Everton so that he can clear his mind and get back to his best. Assuming that is what the problem is. It has been in the past.

Whatever the case, this game can be made a lot easier if Ramsey can get off to a good, positive start. Which shouldn’t be too difficult, really. As mentioned, Newcastle was the first time Ramsey was no better than average.

Moving on to No. 2.
