After two consecutive losses to Chelsea and Manchester City, Arsenal has seemingly turned the corner under new coach Unai Emery. Here are some head-scratching conundrums and encouraging signs from the Spaniard’s short reign in North London.

Currently, Arsenal sit one point off of Champions League spot level on points with bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur and two points ahead of vaunted nemesis Manchester United.

All in all this a relatively auspicious position for the Gunners to find themselves. After a slow start to the season, punctuated by consecutive losses to Manchester City and Chelsea, the club has now rattled off four consecutive wins in the league and five in all competitions.

While the quality of performances has not always been scintillating, Unai Emery’s men have found ways to secure points from difficult positions. The Spaniard’s short time at the helm has been a mixed bag of very encouraging signs and some flat-out bewildering elements as well. With each game, we move farther away from the familiarity of Arsene Wenger and deeper into the unknown.

Now seems like a good time to take stock of what we have seen from this Arsenal team so far. Here is a list of both encouraging and peculiar sings of Emery’s Arsenal.
