2. Granit Xhaka & Mesut Ozil Still Divide Opinion

It feels as though Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil are the keys to unlocking Arsenal’s potential. The Swiss playmaker and German ace seemed to define the final days of Arsene Wenger’s reign. While Aubameyang and Lacazette have forged a crucial partnership, Xhaka and Ozil still raise question marks.

Many fans hoped that Unai Emery’s coaching methods would be able to bring out consistent match-winning performances in these two players but that has yet to manifest. Besides the game against Newcastle, in which they both scored, Ozil and Xhaka have yet to hit the heights Gooners had longed for.

Deploying Ozil centrally and giving Xhaka time to acclimate to Lucas Torreira as his midfield partner could coax out the best in the confounding twosome. If Arsenal plan on making a serious run for the top four and Europa League title, Xhaka and Ozil will both have to hit another level.
