1. The Revival Of Alex Iwobi

It’s still early days but there seems to be something different about Alex Iwobi. Besides his bulked-up body, Iwobi has made some very impressive cameos this season. With a goal against Chelsea and two assists against West Ham and Vorskla, Iwobi seems to be regaining some of that cutting-edge he once displayed during his early days in the Arsenal first team.

Iwobi is the closest thing to a winger that Arsenal has at present. His strength, pace and dribbling ability make him an invaluable part of the squad. Whether he ready to start is yet to be seen, but the Nigeria international is playing with a drive and desire that is certainly refreshing.

In the latter stages of his career, Arsene Wenger seemed to lose his touch a bit with the development of young players. Many youngsters like Bellerin and Iwobi seemed to plateau. Letting players go out and express themselves is definitely encouraging but at a certain point, these players need specific instruction in order to break through to the next level.

It looks Iwobi is getting that direction from Emery at the moment. With a newly signed contract to his name, it will be very encouraging to see Iwobi making strides under the new gaffer.
