2. Alexandre Lacazette

Arsenal did one thing really well against Everton – they took their chances. It begs to be said in the first place that there were not many chances at all, especially early on. As Everton prevented the Gunners from getting into their flow, chances were not in steady supply.

It was up to Alexandre Lacazette to make something out of very little and fire home a truly stunning goal that won’t soon be forgotten. Off-balance and falling away from goal, near the top corner of the box, he fired a curler off the post and into the back of the net. It was, in every sense of the word, splendid.

It remains to be seen if there will be a steady flow of chances against Watford. There is certainly a better chance, as I would hope that Unai Emery has altered the plan a bit since seeing how easily Everton disrupted their attack.

Still, in the event that chances are at a premium, and even if they’re not, it will primarily fall to Lacazette to take the chances that he has, and perhaps to make some of his own, as he was able to do against Everton.

Finally, the main man at No. 1.
