Deep Midfielders

6.0. A scrappy display from Torreira. He wasn’t quite at his best. He was turned inside out on a couple of occasions. He dallied on the ball here and there. But he also provided some nice moments. He offered some neat, progressive passes, he was wonderfully snappy in the tackle as always, and he brought an edge that has been previously absent from this team.. CM. Arsenal. LUCAS TORREIRA

6.5. He passed. A lot. 99 times in fact. That is a staggering amount. And of those 99 times, 65 went forwards and 36 were in the final third. They were not completely just nothing passes. And while that was encouraging, there was also still the usual errings on the ball, the hapless defending against the counter-attack, the dallying and delaying that does not beat a press but actually invites it. He was good-ish, but I’m still not sure that that’s good enough.. CM. Arsenal. GRANIT XHAKA
