Arsenal: Piotr Zielinksi the only man that can make Ramsey exit okay
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal are looking like they’re going to be tasked with replacing Aaron Ramsey. Piotr Zielinski is the only man that can take on that task.
Arsenal are looking more and more like they are going to have to replace the sparkplug that is Aaron Ramsey. All reports regarding the Welshman have been negative lately, as supposedly the contract offer is now off the table and he is resigned to leave.
Normally I would say something along the lines of “we still don’t know anything,” but Ramsey’s less-than-pleased demeanor when he was substituted added a bit of truth to whatever is going on behind the scenes.
How do you replace someone that can do so much, and who has an undeniable penchant for heroism?
It’s hard. Really hard. And you really do have to be selective. There aren’t many players out there like Ramsey, who can emulate what he does. It’s made doubly hard because of that ridiculous ability of his to pop up exactly where he’s needed, when it’s needed.

There is only one man that would make me happy. One man who can make me feel okay about the Ramsey departure, and no, it isn’t Toni Kroos, or Corentin Tolisso, or something unrealistic like that. It’s Piotr Zielinski (did the title give it away?).
Zielinski has that indelible ability, like Ramsey to pop up in dangerous positions, he’s versatile, like Ramsey, to play all over the pitch, he’s borderline unpredictable (in a good and possibly bad way), like Ramsey. And he has that hunger for goals, like Ramsey.
Zielinski has spent the past few years at Napoli, never being fully invested in. He has yet to play 2000 minutes in any given season with the Serie A side, but has amassed nine goals and nine assists in that time, adding two more goals to start this year.
Not impressed by the numbers? You don’t have to be. Watch him play. He plays very similar to Ramsey, where his mind is what makes him truly special. Plus, get a team like Arsenal to fully commit to him and you may start to see the very best he has to offer.
After all, if he gets the 3000 minutes that regular starters get in either of those years, his numbers start to look far more Ramsey-esque.
But don’t just take my word for it, and don’t take the numbers at face value. Watch him play. You’ll see shades of Ramsey and you’ll be just as excited as I am. Of course, it is only a rumor, and means next to nothing, but still, he’s a good fit.
