Arsenal and Aaron Ramsey look destined to break up, but Arsene Wenger begs to differ, and his take on things makes it a win for everyone.

Aaron Ramsey looks destined to leave Arsenal, both by his own admission, and by the admission of his agent. I’m not the only one that thinks this would be an utter travesty. Ramsey probably thinks the exact same, as he was pretty adamant that he thought a deal would be done.

But a new voice has come in to weigh in on things, and the voice comes from a familiar source – Arsene Wenger. Of course, Wenger did recently admit that he hasn’t watched much Arsenal, and by much, I mean none, so maybe we take this with a grain of salt, but regardless, if anyone knows this club, it’s Wenger.

And Wenger thinks that Ramsey could still stay. Which is literally all I need to hear to rejuvenate my hopes in the Welshman staying. It’s all I worry about anymore these days. Wenger admitted that he doesn’t know what is going on at the club, but said that Ramsey could still stay, he just has the upper hand.

I actually really like that position, if Wenger is right. Because that means that the ball is in Ramsey’s court to put the pressure on the club to make a move.

Think about it. Ramsey loves this club, he has been a dedicated servant to the Gunners ever since Wenger stuck with him and showed him the true values of the club. Ten years he has been right there at the heart of the club and it stands to reason that he still wants to sign a new deal. That he still wants to stay.

That means that he may feel the need to convince the club that they should give him whatever it is that he wants that he can’t currently get.

I don’t know about you, but I really like the sound of that. Arguably the most impactful player on the team has extra motivation to go above and beyond what he is already capable of doing in an attempt to win a new contract offer.

Sounds good, right? Every time Ramsey has been put under the microscope, he has come out looking pretty damn spiffy, and this may be the time he is most under the microscope.
