Arsenal have had ten guys score goals in the Premier League thus far into the year, so who will be lucky number eleven? Seems pretty obvious.

With two world class strikers, both of whom had hopes of Golden Glove contention (and still do), many expected that the majority of Arsenal goals would flow through two main sources. While that is steadily becoming the case, with both of those strikers tied at four goals, it hasn’t been the case all year.

No other team has as many different goal scorers as the Gunners. Ten guys have totaled a goal for the club, which means that many beyond the usual cast are knocking them home. And that’s just in the Premier League, too. Both Sokratis and Guendouzi have added their name to the scoresheet in the Europa League.

Which makes me want to ask a simple enough question – who will be the eleventh guy on the scoresheet? The next guy to add his name to the growing list.

There aren’t many candidates. Which is what makes this an easy question to answer. The only (likely) candidates are Sokratis, who, as mentioned, joined the list in the Europa League, Lucas Torreira, Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

To me, the answer seems obvious. It’s Bellerin. And yes, I am strongly swayed by the rocket he fired at Fulham that required a finger-tip save.

Seeing how often Nacho Monreal creeps into the goal-scoring spectrum, I have to assume that Bellerin will start to do more of the same the more he settles into the season, which I don’t think has happened yet, but which I do think started to happen more at Fulham.

Bellerin has been a good source of attacking prowess on the right hand side, he’s sent in some good, workable balls, some of which have resulted in assists, and it’s about time for him to be the next guy to score the goal.

I do look forward to Torreira’s first goal, but he hasn’t flirted with too many “close calls” thus far into the season. I’m sure that goal will come, but until he starts becoming a bigger part of the attack, the goals will come from other sources.

Bellerin knows what he’s doing in the attack. I give him a lot of flak for his defensive frailties thus far into the year, but I will never fault him for his attacking capabilities.
