Arsenal’s one glaring fault this year has been in their handling of Aaron Ramsey and lo and behold, it’s actually getting worse than it already was.
Remember that time I said I was writing my last article pertaining to Aaron Ramsey‘s contract situation at Arsenal? Yeah, that was about three articles ago. But the point in that “finale” article was that we wouldn’t know any more until something actually happened.
Well, something actually did happen. Or rather, Aaron Ramsey shed light on something that happened that makes this whole situation worse than it already is, if you can believe it.
I made the point that we are owed an explanation, no matter what happens. We fans are quite fond of Ramsey, and to know that he is being, in a way, shunned, just seems odd and, as mentioned, needs some explaining.
But apparently Ramsey needs to be explained to as well. When Ramsey was asked about the contract being pulled away, he sounded just as baffled as everyone else.
“Hopefully somebody will come up and tell me why,” he said to the Evening Standard.

"“I’ll accept that if there’s a reason. When the time is right, I probably will find out but that hasn’t happened yet.“There is no contract on the table at the moment so there is nothing for me to consider or whatever. We all know that the contract was taken away off the table. I’m not sure exactly why because a few weeks before we sort of agreed and I was ready to sign.”"
I don’t know about everyone else, but I actually find this really disturbing. Ramsey was “ready to sign” but then the offer disappeared without him even being told why. What in hell is that? Is that how you treat the man who should be the captain? Who has been with the club for over a decade?
Absolutely not. Ramsey has done so much for this club and I hate that this little wart of a situation is sitting right on a fantastic run of form from the Gunners. Right now, it is literally the only detractor to the season, this blatant mistreatment of an Arsenal legend (there, I said it).
I guess on the bright side, it sounds like the situation is reparable. But it’s all on the club to make the next move. At least according to Ramsey, who is someone who would be “in the know.”
