4. I love Unai Emery

It was a sad day when Arsene Wenger announced that he would be resigning from his post as Arsenal manager. He was the reason that I loved the sport, a man that I respected and admired. From a purely emotional, personal standpoint, I did not want him to leave. I loved Arsene Wenger. But, thankfully, the man Arsenal chose to succeed Wenger with is someone that I am very quickly endearing myself to.

Unai Emery is not very Wengerian. He does not stand on the touchline in a quiet, considered manner. He is not as obviously thoughtful and philosophical as his predecessor, though I would hasten to add that he is those things, just not so plainly. He is enthused, almost crazed, he is relentless and his inspiring.

The energy — mostly positive, which is crucial — that Emery displays on the touchline exudes throughout the pitch. The very fact that he was geeing up the crowd was just phenomenal. And it takes effect in his players. That was clearly noticeable here. Just like Wenger, I love Unai Emery. He really is a breath of fresh air.
