Central Midfield
This is perhaps the easiest position group to decipher. With Unai Emery settling on who is playing in central midfield in the Europa League and EFL Cup, it is quite clear what trio he believes is currently his best option.

It is the same trio that has started two of the last three Premier League matches together: Lucas Torreira and Granit Xhaka anchoring the midfield, with Mesut Ozil stationed in his preferred and best suited number 10 position, in behind the lone centre-forward. With no injuries on the cards, there is little reason to think that Emery will not continue with this triumvirate.
This is quickly becoming the core of this Arsenal team. Against Liverpool, both Xhaka and Torreira were phenomenal, controlling the game masterfully as they probed their way forwards with incisive, progressive passing and then stifled any Liverpool counter-attack with smart, aggressive and timely defending.
If Arsenal are to have success this season, then it will be because of these three players. They are at the heart of everything that Emery’s system does. It is good, then, that they will play together once more. The more they do, the better they will get.
