Unai Emery’s tenure at Arsenal has only just begun, but Neymar has weighed in on his former boss, saying that he will bring what he already has.

Arsenal are 16 games unbeaten as we weather this international break. Not every game has been a fantastic affair, particularly the last one against Wolverhampton, but despite this new mantra that “16 unbeaten is just a statistic,” it’s still 16 unbeaten and it shows the club’s new tenacity.

Unai Emery is making things happen, and it isn’t going unnoticed. Neymar, who spent some time under Unai Emery at PSG, weighed in with his opinion, pointing out that Emery will bring ‘good things’ to the club.

That’s cool. But it’s not really that bold of a prediction, is it? Emery has already brought ‘good things’ to the club, and we’re not even half way through the season yet.

Think about it. So many players have been highlighting the ‘good things’ that are already being woven into the new culture at the club. Hector Bellerin highlights how Emery has infused the club with a “will to win,” which is something that the team has been highly-criticized for lacking in years past.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That’s what contributes to having a 16-match unbeaten run, with so many ugly games scattered into the good ones – the club has a passion now, a desire to not lose a match. And when Leno spoke up after Leno and said that prolonging the unbeaten streak didn’t really matter, and that they wanted to win, well, what does that say?

The will to win is here, and it runs deep.

Even beyond that, Emery has brought hope. We all had such a profound appreciation for Arsene Wenger (at least we should have), but let’s be honest, there wasn’t much hope in the later years. Hope of glory, hope of greatness, it was all confined to FA Cups and Champions League qualification. Which isn’t the standard this club should be aiming for.

Emery brings a new hope. A belief that in every single match, we are going to see a grit and determination, even when things are ugly or tough.

The club has come together, they want to fight for glory, and the quality of players we acquired in the summer is superb.

Give the fans hope and belief and that’s two of the best things available. Of course, eventually you will have to start turning those building blocks into something more palpable, but that will come in time.
