Deep Midfielders

CM. Arsenal. LUCAS TORREIRA. 7.6. Interesting game from him. Was more of an attacking presence, but he made a wild, thudding pass to no one more times than once. Settled into the game more as time went on, wrested some crucial possession in the midfield to propel the attack the other way and was otherwise his usual self. Get him some more confidence around the goal and this could start to get really special.

Arsenal. GRANIT XHAKA. 7.5. Tapered off at the end of the match. Suddenly his passing was wild and his possession less sure, but before that, and throughout the majority of the match, his passing was pinpoint as usual and his defending was top-notch too. I don’t want that defensive ability to get lost in translation, because he was quite good today.. CM
