Arsenal came out of this one like their pants were on fire (in a good way). They kept the pressure on the Spurs and were rewarded early on from the penalty spot when Vertonghen’s hand swatted a ball off of Mustafi’s head.

It was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that put it away coolly, and the lead was almost doubled several times before things started to go south.

After Bernd Leno fumbled what appeared to be a simple enough save into the back of the net, the Spurs M.O. kicked in when Son went to ground after not having been touched and, in typical fashion, was awarded a penalty that the Gunners put away.

Another deficit at halftime for the Gunners to overcome, but overcome they did, with passion. Once the substitutes were introduced, you could tell things had changed, particularly with Aaron Ramsey, the game had turned on its head again, and the Gunners were high-flying to a massive, massive victory.

Here are the player ratings.

Goalkeeper

BERND LENO. 7.0. That first goal was a tough one. He certainly should have done better, but that late touch by Dier surely through him a bit of a screwball. Still has to do better. Which he did, for the rest of the match. Even had a Manuel Neuer moment, flying out of goal to stop a fast break. Made some clutch, necessary saves as well. Happy first Derby!. GK. Arsenal
