Back Three

CB. Arsenal. SHKODRAN MUSTAFI. 5.5. Iffy. Struggled out wide before Rob Holding was substituted off, stood up by Marcus Rashford on a couple of occasions. Didn’t exactly cover himself in glory for the second goal, playing very tentatively, not taking the defensive initiative, which a leading centre-half should. Nice header for the opening goal.

5.5. Looked pretty good in the centre of the three before Holding’s injury. Then had to move to the left and immediately struggled. Rashford, in the second half especially, recognised where he could hurt the team: pulling into Sokratis and driving at the Greek international in space. Also, wasn’t particularly commanding for either goal, which is concerning.. CB. Arsenal. SOKRATIS

Arsenal. ROB HOLDING. 5.0. Looks like a bad injury, which is a major shame — he was beginning to come into form under Emery’s guidance. Prior to that, he was struggling. Slow to react for the goal (play to the whistle, Rob), and kept stepping up into space and then panicking when options were limited, although that is not completely his fault. Hopefully, the injury is not as bad as it seems.. CB
