Arsenal are again being warned about yet another obstacle that Unai Emery will have to face, but can the doomsday prepping just stop?

Arsenal are doing some amazing things this year. I don’t care what other people want to say, it’s been amazing. To see a team turn around so quickly is something truly special. To go from 22 years under Arsene Wenger to the first year with Unai Emery and go 21 unbeaten (with more surely to come), is amazing.

But seeing the changes alone is pretty amazing as well. These players who were often so devoid of passion and fight are now looking like they actually want to win and, in the end, they are actually winning.

Not all that long ago, there were pundits aplenty talking about how the Gunners were going to be eviscerated by marauding Liverpool, who would treat the Gunners like Vikings treated the English in the middle ages. Because, remember? The Gunners hadn’t played anyone of note.

When the draw played out, with Arsenal looking every bit up to the challenge, a few were more than a little surprised. But that surprise wore off when, true to form, Tottenham was around the corner and still, there were doubters.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

I still remember at half-time, Robbie Earle saying, without hesitation, that Tottenham would win, no doubt about it.

Oops. They didn’t. because yet again, the Gunners were underestimated by the friendly neighborhood vendetta.

And now there is a new doomsday worry! It wasn’t Liverpool, that didn’t end the fantastic stretch that the Emery era is on, and it sure wasn’t Tottenham, which showed the strength of the club even more. It wasn’t even a dreaded visit to Old Trafford.

This time, they’re saying that the congested fixture list will do the Gunners in. That Unai Emery seems “worn out.” Since the fixtures are piling up, surely Emery would never be able to handle the workload, right?

Get real. We have been here before, we will be here again. This club, like every other club, is going to face obstacles and literally before each obstacle, there will be more doubters than believers.

But maybe, gradually, slowly but surely, we can start to see the list of doubters filtering into the list of believers. I just want to hear Robbie Earle predict an Arsenal win against a top-tier team. Is that too much to ask for? Better yet, how about Garth Crooks?
