Fullbacks

6.8. Quite an odd game for him. In small capacities, he looked quite capable, particularly with his runs over the top and the trouble that caused Blackpool. But when he was asked to actually do something with it, namely that bizarre headed effort that he should he simply knocked in the back of the net, he seemed squeamish, like he was afraid to make a mistake. His presence did allow Maitland-Niles to play further forward though, and I like that.. RB. Arsenal. CARL JENKINSON

7.0. Was clearly given directions not to forfeit his defensive duties in an effort to make himself out as a wingback. He did his part well enough, and by that, I mean without detriment, but at the end of the day, he’s an attacking wingback first and a fullback second. He was pretty anonymous in that regard, particularly early on, as it looked like Blackpool were far more interested in attacking Jenkinson’s side. Still, a job done is a job done.. LB. Arsenal.
