1. Top four going to be tough

The big goal for this season was to reclaim top-four status. Whether this Arsenal squad is actually capable of attaining that goal was not really known. Nevertheless, that was the target that the club set for itself. Now, a little over halfway through the season, it is going to be extremely tough to achieve that target.

As of writing, Arsenal currently sit three points off the top four. Chelsea play Newcastle at home Saturday evening and will move six points clear with the same number of games played with a win. Spurs then play Manchester United on Sunday. Depending on the result, Arsenal could be ten points behind their north London rivals or in sixth, behind United.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the weekend, it will be extremely difficult for Unai Emery to lead this squad back into the top four. If they continue to play like this, then they won’t win another game, nevermind make up points on Chelsea and Spurs.
