Arsenal: Don’t be dramatic, we still have “our Arsenal” back
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal fans were over the moon during the 22-match unbeaten, claiming “We Have Our Arsenal back,” and they were right. Nothing has changed.
If there is one thing more fickle than Arsenal fans, it’s the tabloid media that covers the club. They prey on the easily-influenced fans by spouting completely ridiculous rumors and speculation without any citation or source.
A few days back, the first headline I saw was how fans are no longer chanting “We Have Our Arsenal Back” like they were in the early Unai Emery days. The article claimed that the honeymoon phase was over.
I won’t argue that, or the point that was made, but I will argue the notion that fans were wrong about us having “our Arsenal back.”
We do. We absolutely do. The differences between last year and this year, while getting a bit muddled as of late thanks to some less than desirable results, as well as some tumult behind the scenes, both with Ramsey and Ozil.

But for those of us with the unique ability to step back and look big picture, all of what is happening is happening in the name of us having our club back. This club, which has more history than 99% of the clubs in existence, that should always be in the running for major trophies and titles, that doesn’t get bogged down by one man, is back. All we have to do is take a deep breath and let it get back on its feet.
Think about what we’ve been asking of Unai Emery since he joined up. Or what we’ve been stressing that he hasn’t been able to do: sort out the Ozil situation, sort out the Ramsey situation, untangle the mess of a wage structure, integrate Wenger’s players into his tactics, integrate what few players he has imported into a combined schematic that will work with both types of players, figure out which players are worth keeping and which need to be sold, fill the gaps in the club without any money, keep winning, stay in the top four race against clubs with endless funds and years of building blocks in place, cope with the injuries and, if there is any energy left – win a trophy.
That’s crazy. Absolutely crazy. Emery is the right man for the right club, we have our club back. But seriously, just let him put all the pieces in place before we go hitting any panic buttons. He’s doing a fantastic job given all that’s happening around him.
