Arsenal vs Chelsea: 5 key players in yet another necessary match
By Josh Sippie
2. Alex Iwobi
It wasn’t the fault of the strikers against West Ham. Sure, they should have been tidier with the chances that they did have, but overall, they were stranded on an island with nowhere to go. All the hope and promise that popped up in the first twenty minutes was gone by the half hour mark and suddenly, it felt like they might as well not even have been out there.

Alex Iwobi was one of the few positive creators in that match. He created a couple really good chances, even though they amounted to nothing more than a stat.
Still, he established that, in a barren desert, he could be counted on to create chances when no one else seemed capable. It was a tough situation, because the tactics clearly weren’t in the Gunners favor, and Iwobi, too, felt isolated, even though he acclimated well to it.
He is going to need to do more of the same against Chelsea. I don’t know what sort of assistance Iwobi will find in the squad around him, so it may fall on him to supply his strikers with reliable opportunities. Because someone has to do it, and if not him, than who?
Finally, on to No. 1.
