Arsenal’s ongoing saga with Denis Suarez is being blown wildly out of proportion. The man is a want, not a need, and that is obvious.

Arsenal‘s January transfer window situation is pretty well understood now. The club is incapable of bringing in any big signings because their self-sustainability method hasn’t fully kicked in yet and the club is, as of now, broke.

Loan moves, or very, very budget-friendly purchases, are the only option. Denis Suarez could be either of the two available option. But in the wake of the news that a move may be “falling through,” the tabloids out there have been blowing this wildly out of proportion, saying that fans and club alike are “rocked” and “gutted” that the move has fallen through (which, again, is only according to a report).

It’s click-bait, and it’s become a bit of a circus. Because they are all missing one clear and obvious fact – Denis Suarez is not a need. He isn’t someone that we have to have right this moment or the club collapses.

There are developing problems in the creative midfield. Aaron Ramsey is leaving, Mesut Ozil isn’t consistent enough, Henrikh Mkhitaryan hasn’t found his footing yet. But Alex Iwobi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, even Granit Xhaka have proven to be creative forces capable of carrying the load.

And it’s clear that Ramsey will stay to the end of the season if need be, and as long as that is the case, any and all panic is foolishly overblown.

If the absolute worst unfolds and we can’t land Suarez this January, then we ride it out until the summer, we let some youngsters step in when needed, prove themselves when given the chance, and when the summer rolls around and Ramsey leaves, we have a bigger budget to truly assess the damage that needs repairing, if any.

Besides, Unai Emery has time to build his foundation. Coming to Arsenal granted him the freedom and security he might not have found in other places. This is a club that builds for the long haul and even as it stands, there aren’t that man glaring needs that the club just has to address.

Wingers, yes. Defense, yes. All the rest is just a matter of weeding out those that aren’t cutting it anymore and reassessing.

That is all we need. We don’t need Denis Suarez by February 1st. We don’t even really need him in the summer. It’d be nice, sure. We all love a new signing. But everyone needs to chill out.
