Arsenal vs Manchester City player ratings: That was predictable

STEPHAN LICHTSTEINER. 0.4. Horrible. After seeing a performance like that, I’m inclined to say we overpaid for him. If you want to see an instructional video on “how not to defend,” watch City’s second goal and follow the No. 12. One of the worst games you’ll see from a professional rightback. I really liked what he brought the club early in the season, but it’s so clear he cannot play a wide defensive position. Use him on the right side in a back three or don’t use him at all, because this was painful to watch.. RB. Arsenal

6.2. Could have done better on watching the far post, as it seemed to be a point of target every time Raheem Sterling did in Stephan Lichtsteiner, but far from the worst offender on the club in this one. Had a fantastic flick-on header for the assist on the only goal and while he was left exposed at times, he was also a strong presence in others. A mixed bag.. LB. Arsenal. NACHO MONREAL
