4. Denis Suarez

This is what desperation looks like (not Denis Suarez, me). This is a club that has one of the greatest creators of our generation (Mesut Ozil) and another fantastic creator (Henrikh Mkhitaryan) and yet, there are no chances to speak of. Both Ozil and Mkhitaryan haven’t been playing, either by injury or because of unreliability and that has meant that our wonderful striking corps has been starving.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

As such, I turn to the new, 25-year-old prospect that has only been here for about a week and I anoint him a key player in this one.

I don’t know what capacity he will be used. I want to believe that he can start, since this is a match that you’d hope would be dominated by the Gunners. I also want to believe that he will start because who else has earned the chance? Aaron Ramsey, sure, but he alone won’t be enough.

Suarez may just be a substitute, and maybe I’m blowing this way out of proportion, but he’s here to do the job that no one seems able to do. And I don’t know about you, but that sounds pretty damn important to me.

On to No. 3.
