Arsenal vs Huddersfield: 5 key players as tug of war continues
By Josh Sippie
1. Alexandre Lacazette
There really can’t be any other key man, least of all given the current state of the club, where they can’t seem to buy a chance. The good thing about Alexandre Lacazette is that he can create for himself, and create for others as well.
The problem is, as we saw against Manchester City, there just wasn’t enough happening around him to make his time worthwhile. The man needs inspiration, he needs momentum, as does anyone else, and ideally, that will return against Huddersfield in a match that, again, should be controllable.
It does feel like it’s only a matter of time, though, before Unai Emery opts out of the two striker set in favor of getting more chance creators in there, but at the end of the day, Lacazette has made himself a mainstay in the starting XI. Even if he gets pushed to the bench, he’s still likely to make a late impact.
Whatever the case, the hopes of the attack so often ride on his shoulders. His diminishing performance against City went hand-in-hand with the attack failing and he, like the rest of the club, will be raring to put that loss behind them and get on to a comfortable win.
