Arsenal vs BATE Borisov predicted starting XI: Denis Suarez, right?
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal move into the serious end of the Europa League in a tie that can’t be taken for granted. Here is the predicted starting XI for BATE Borisov, phase one.
Arsenal have had an emotional week, with the formal announcement that due to financial destitution, Aaron Ramsey will be leaving the club and getting paid what he deserves at Juventus, where he will probably win all kinds of things – also like he deserves.
But here in North London, life goes on, and that means that the next order of business is BATE Borisov in the first round of the Europa League knockout stages. Given the break in Premier League action at the weekend, this is a match that doesn’t require any big time need for rest of our regular first-teamers, but that doesn’t mean things shouldn’t be changed up to give some rest where it is needed.
It’s not an easy one to call as to who Unai Emery will put in the starting XI sheet, especially seeing as how this is the away fixture, and we don’t play again until next Thursday for the home fixture, meaning that if we put in a shift in this one, next week’s match becomes more of a leisurely stroll, which is more important than getting players a rest now.
Still, a match is a match, and whether it’s being played in Belarus or not, the Europa League remains the best route for the Gunners to quality for that crucial Champions League berth and achieve the financial boon that comes with it.
Meaning that you can bet that Unai Emery is taking this match dead serious, Premier League break or no break. So let’s talk about just how seriously he may take it, starting in between the sticks.
Keeper
This is Petr Cech‘s swan song, so expect him to keep his spot in the starting XI, even with retirement looming. Ideally he will be extra motivated to lead this club to a trophy now that this will be his last doings as a professional keeper.
Moving into the formational players, given the success of the 3-4-3 against Huddersfield (yes, I said success) I think he sticks with it here.
So let’s start with the back three.
