Centre-Backs

Arsenal. SHKODRAN MUSTAFI. 5.0. His passing was really, really poor. He shanked one out of play within the first 30 seconds and then tried to force one a few minutes later. From that point on, he seemingly lost all confidence, unwilling to step into the midfield. Building out from the back, therefore, became very difficult down the right side. Had little to do defensively. Predictably poor.. RCB

6.0. Defended fine, though there wasn’t that much for him to do, but still moved the ball too slowly at times. Difficult to offer a true rating given the pattern of the match and the lack of pressure he was put under.. CB. Arsenal. LAURENT KOSCIELNY

LCB. Arsenal. NACHO MONREAL. 6.5. The best of the back three with the most willingness to step forward and play the ball into progressive spaces. Clearly comfortable in the left-sided centre-back role given his accustom to playing at full-back. One of the few good performers.
