Arsenal are in a rough spot right now, but that doesn’t mean that it is going to last forever. In fact, it absolutely won’t. They’ll win the Premier League again.

Arsenal have become somewhat mediocre in recent years and are now facing the prospect of not being part of the top 4 in the Premier League for a while under Unai Emery.

Put the Mesut Ozil saga to one side and let’s get another thing out-of-the-way; Arsenal are no different now to what they were last season, and they were no different last season to what they’ll be next year.

While we’re making the transition from one manager to another and the very little funds available, if any, other clubs have already made those changes and are in advanced positions in regards to the stability at their clubs and the consistency in their performances on the pitch.

Arsenal have a long way to go before they can take on the likes of Man City to challenge for the Premier League title. In fact, the Gunners are so off the mark that challenging for a top 4 finish is well…… a challenge in itself. We have become somewhat mediocre and are now facing the prospect of not being part of the top 4 anymore or at least for another couple of seasons.

With the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool battling it out for the title this season, Tottenham being at a more consistent level, Manchester United improving under Ole Gunnar Solskjær in their second half of the season and the probability that Chelsea‘s form will only improve, this leaves our club in a position to finish 6th for the second consecutive season – something us Gooners are not used to at all.

The thing is, us fans wanted change. When we wanted change, we didn’t only want a difference in personnel (management), we wanted things to change in every area. It’s all well and good changing the manager, but when the manager doesn’t get the resources he needs, especially in his first season in charge, then what’s the point?

It seems to me that Unai Emery isn’t getting 100% of the support he needs from the top with Stan Kroenke not investing in the club. Also, a lot of the fans taking to Twitter with the #EmeryOut hashtag doesn’t help things.

Transition takes time, but unfortunately the last few seasons haven’t given a lot of the fan base any patience as it’s been so long since challenging for the title let alone winning it.

But for those, patience is what you’ll need to have as I think we shouldn’t expect anything major any time soon. This transition will take longer than most because of that lack of investment. This is going to take time and it will be a bumpy road along the way. There will be highs and lows, but as supporters, we need to stick by the team through thick and thin.

We will be challenging for the Premier League again and we will win it, but in the meantime we have to sit tight, put our seat belts on and get through a couple of car crashes in between.

It’s Emery’s first season in charge and half of the fans are already calling for his head. I think he deserves a bit more time and respect before anyone should decide his future at Arsenal Football Club.
