Arsenal: Matteo Guendouzi flushing out idiotic “logic”
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal are getting interest for Matteo Guendouzi, and the price is definitely the kind of price you pay for someone who is “just okay.”
Matteo Guendouzi has been an unbelievable signing this year for Arsenal. For a very small transfer fee, we have landed a midfielder that can, as of right now, do absolutely anything. And anything he can’t do, he has plenty of time to learn to do.
Just 19-years-old and already showcasing that he can be a regular at a top tier club like Arsenal (yes, we are still a top tier club). He started out as a haphazard marauder, but now has learned control, ball movement, better passing, long and short and, give him some more time and he’ll learn to score some goals too.
This is all in his first season with the club. Within the first season at the club, seeing as how this season isn’t even wrapped yet. So by time he’s 20 he may have shown more progression than you see out of the regular midfielder in three, four years.
But here comes Charlie Nicholas saying that Guendouzi has been just “okay.” I literally can’t get it out of my head how anyone can get that into their head.

The thing that makes it a lot easier to stomach is that there are much more important minds out there that hold Guendouzi in a much higher regard than whatever attention grabbers like Charlie Nicholas have to say.
According to reports, PSG have registered an interest in Matteo Guendouzi and the Gunners have stated their price – a cool £60m. For starters – that would be the most expensive player to ever be sold from this club, a club notorious for underselling their guys. Just think of Serge Gnabry.
The fact that PSG are interested, and that the Gunners are wielding a premium commodity, is a testament to what Guendouzi has done in just a few short months. From Ligue 2, to Arsenal, to now being tracked by one of the biggest teams in the world. But don’t worry, Charlie Nicholas thinks that “just okay” is worth £60m, apparently.
Let this serve as a stark reminder that what is actually happening is so vastly different than what the talking heads are saying. So when the talking heads say something about Unai Emery not doing a good job, or the club heading in the wrong direction, just remember that the difference between a talking head and the people that matter is about £60m.
