Arsenal: Stop trying to use Denis Suarez and just use him
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal go into a match that looks to be cherry-picked for Denis Suare, but enough of this toe-in-the-water crap. Commit to the guy!
Arsenal could not create a chance to save their life just a couple of weeks ago, and that is why they went out and plucked away a kid that accredits Unai Emery with “making him a footballer,” Denis Suarez. The 25-year-old Spaniard was assumedly going to provide the fix to the baffling problem, but he has had no such opportunity.
Instead, all the other players that were supposed to be doing this in the first place, are doing it now. They are stepping up, providing the opportunity for their strikers, and they are doing it with room to spare, which leaves no room for Denis Suarez.
But this week is a special situation. With each Premier League fixture mattering, the midweek match against Bournemouth takes on a new light when placed in the shadow of the North London Derby at the weekend.
The Cherries are safely stowed away in the middle of the Premier League table, they aren’t going to get relegated and they aren’t going to be pushing for European competition. They are ripe for the picking, as it’s that time in the season where midtable teams become the easiest opponents.

Having just utilized a lot of premium options against Southampton, and not wanting to let them wear themselves out against Bournemouth, wouldn’t you say it’s a great time to walk up behind Denis Suarez, who keeps sticking his toe in the water to see if its the right temperature, and push him in?
Suarez hasn’t even played 90 minutes yet, he’s done next to nothing (actually, might as well just call it ‘nothing’) and at the moment, it’s a head scratcher why he’s even here. Clearly Emery likes the guy or we wouldn’t have him, so it’s time to stop trying to use him and just use him. If he has any gumption to him, then facing a midtable side with very little to play for, the lion’s share of possession, and the security of having Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil (most likely) around him is the perfect chance to see what he’s got.
It’s not like there’s going to be a better time, not with how many players also want to prove themselves in this creative midfield.
No point in dallying about this any longer than we already have. Get him out there.
