Arsenal Vs Bournemouth: Player ratings – Mkhitaryan magic
Arsenal hosted Bournemouth on Wednesday evening as they looked to keep the pressure on in the top-four race. Here are the player ratings from the 5-1 win.
Arsenal looked to make it three straight wins as they played host to mid-table Bournemouth on Wednesday night. It started exactly the way they’d want it to, with a quick goal from who else but Mesut Ozil. The German international was played in by a quick-hit pass from Sead Kolasinac and Ozil, passing up the chance to feed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, finished it off for himself in stellar fashion.
It wasn’t long after that that Henrikh Mkhitaryan, preying on a mistake from the Cherries, plucked away a cross-pitch pass, proceeded to feed Ozil, who re-fed Mkhitaryan, who had only to pass it into an open net. It was smooth sailing until Matteo Guendouzi gave away a ball right on the edge of his own goal box that the Cherries easily put away to close the gap.

In the second half, the Gunners controlled the game, scoring three goals through Laurent Koscielny and that pair of brilliant centre-forwards, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, racing onto Mkhitaryan’s pass and rounding the goalkeeper, and Alexandre Lacazette, who dipped a superb freekick up and over the wall.
