Front Three

7.5. Scored the opening goal of the game, although not too much credit can be given to him for the cross-shot finish, nearly assisted a second moments later, had Lucas Torreira’s strike been better directed, and was the Gunners’ primary threat for the opening 45 minutes. Another bright, purposeful display. A little unlucky to be withdrawn early with Unai Emery shuffling his ten-man pack.. LW. Arsenal. ALEX IWOBI

5.5. Should not have been playing at right-back in the second half — I will touch on this in the 5 things we learned. But he did his job dutifully and for that, he is deserving of praise. That said, he struggled to defend the line correctly, with Hatem ben Arfa especially causing him issues, and he had provided little in the first half when playing further forward anyway.. RW. Arsenal. HENRIKH MKHITARYAN

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG. 5.0. He does know how to control a football, right? Aubameyang’s hold-up play is being exposed by Alexandre Lacazette right now. Aubameyang is a terrific goalscorer, but strikers must provide more than goals in the modern game, and he doesn’t. Rightfully subbed off to close out the game, even if it left Arsenal with no strikers on the pitch.. ST. Arsenal
