Arsenal: Anyone who thinks Aaron Ramsey won’t be missed is wrong
By Josh Sippie
Arsenal’s least favorite fan, Piers Morgan, has said that Aaron Ramsey will not be missed. But his logic proves just how wrong he is.
I think I’d gone a whole year without having to type the words ‘Piers Morgan,’ and I was so much better off because of it, but here we are again, all because it’s two straight weeks of no Arsenal football and Piers has said something stupid.
He’s said that he doesn’t think that Aaron Ramsey will be missed as much as people think. Of course, he has had this ridiculous feud with Ramsey for as long as Ramsey’s been at the club, so that has to be taken in as a factor, but it’s in his logic that we see how horribly wrong he really is.
For starters, he’s compared him to Olivier Giroud, and said that we don’t miss Giroud at all, despite him being a good footballer. To which I have two things to say: 1. Yes we do miss Giroud. All the time. Any time we need a different way to attack, or need a super-sub striker late on and have no one to turn to, we miss Giroud. 2. If you still want to say you don’t miss him, then consider who it is we got to replace him. £100m of elite strikers.
You really think we are going to spend that much covering for Ramsey? Because we absolutely aren’t. I’d be surprised if we signed anyone, and certainly no one on the same level as Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Another point of Morgan’s “logic” was that Ramsey has been involved with the worst era of Arsene Wenger’s time at the club. Which is, again, not a good argument. You don’t choose what era you’re a part of, you don’t choose what the team does around you. Ramsey was the reason we ended the trophy drought, the reason we took another FA Cup against Chelsea, he’s done so much to ensure that this era wasn’t worse that it already was.
Morgan says that he won’t be missed because Ramsey hasn’t played much under Unai Emery. But he hasn’t played much because we’ve been preparing for life without him. He’s found his way back into the club because he’s been impossible to do without. Emery tried to keep the Welshman out of the club, to make the exit smoother, but he wasn’t able too, because he’s too valuable.
He remains, despite the limited appearances, our four most efficient goal contributor, both in terms of actual goals and assists, and the frequency with which they are produced.
This isn’t about logic, it’s about Morgan having his stupid spat with Ramsey one last time. Ramsey is going to be missed and anyone that tries to say otherwise is a fool.
