Arsenal are making fools of themselves letting Aaron Ramse go for free, but if you’re only now losing your temper over this, then you’re too late.

I don’t know if I’ve ever been more upset at Arsenal then when it became clear that they were going to let Aaron Ramsey walk for free. Some of it, I think, comes down to fund mismanagement and financial handcuffs, but there’s no room for excuses, because there is literally no reason why Ramsey is leaving at all, let alone for free.

Plenty of people have been upset about it, as they rightfully should be (unless your name is Piers Morgan), seeing as how he’s an icon of the club and should be treated to legendary status. Though that’s an easier claim to make if they’d have locked him up for the long term like he wanted to have happen.

Still, his heroics ended the trophy drought, they came about as a light in a dark era and he’s always been there to be an uplifting source when there seemed to be so few others.

That said, if you are one of the people who is only now attacking the club for letting him walk, then chances are you were also one of those people who thought he wouldn’t be missed, and are only now starting to realize how wrong you are, and want to make sure that it’s not too late to get on the winning side.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

Yet another talking head has launched a scathing verbal attack on the club, which seems to happen after every positive Ramsey performance, acting like this is some kind of unique notion that it’s a mistake that’s being made.

My question is – where were you when it was first announced that he was going to Juventus? Were you in the “who cares?” camp, or were you actually outraged then too?

Unfortunately, outrage sells, and people screaming at a television screen sells. So expect more and more people to start screaming as the season goes on. As if we all didn’t already know that letting Ramsey go for free was a massive mistake.

Maybe I’m being nitpicky, but I don’t care. I feel entitled to my original outrage at Ramsey being let go at all, forget the free for a second. Such that it drives me nuts that people are still coming out with these statements like it’s a brand new concept. Get out of here.
