2. Who is title-winning good enough?

Of the players that played on Wednesday night, how many would you say are good enough to start for a title-winning team? I think you could make an argument for none of them. To support that line of thinking, ask yourself this: How many of the 14 players who featured would get into the Manchester City starting XI?

The only one I would be happy to make an argument for is Alexandre Lacazette. He was not at his best here, but he has been exemplary throughout this season and is one of the better centre-forwards in the Premier League. But even then, is he at the same standard as Sergio Aguero? Maybe. Lucas Torreira could grow into this type of player, but he is not there yet.

Extending this question to the entire squad, there are only two other players that I would even consider as title-winning: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Hector Bellerin. That’s it. This squad is not good enough and is in dire need of some serious summer investment.
