Lucas Torreira

No one expects Lucas Torreira to be sold. He’s only just hit the ground running in the Premier League and he looks to be the perfect solution to Arsenal’s midfield problems.

More from Pain in the Arsenal

That being said, the case has to be made.

Torreira has shown a lot of potential, yes, but he has also shown an unfortunate habit of going to ground incredibly easily and looking a bit weak for someone that you want to be a midfield enforcer. It took N’Golo Kante very little time to show that he wasn’t too small and thus too weak for the league, and Torreira hasn’t quite shown that yet. He is still having trouble with being pushed around.

As he is still incredibly young, his value has to have increased this year with all the time that he has seen, and it is definitely plausible that we could recoup what we spent on him by a healthy margin.

All that said… there’s no case to be made for selling Torreira, so I’ll just go ahead and stop while I’m ahead.

Will we sell? No.
Should we sell? No.
Ideal transfer fee: £40m

The attacking midfield is coming up next.
