5. Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey… what to say. Let’s start by saying that I hate, with a fiery passion, that he is leaving Arsenal. (I had to erase “will be leaving us” and replace it with “is.”)

We’ve had problems with players leaving, but I don’t think any suck as bad as this, because it could have been avoided. So easily.

Regardless, what Ramsey was able to do this year, with the professionalism he showed, it was something special, even if it had to go sour with his injury at the end of the year. He was such a creative force when we had nothing else. He was the key to the 3-5-2 formation, proving to be the only creative midfielder capable of playing that sole No. 10 role while Mesut Ozil and the inept crew couldn’t figure out how to create a chance.

But we always knew that this is what Ramsey can do. And the fact that he was tied for third on the team in goal creation despite such an abbreviated season shouldn’t even be surprising. He is a hero and a legend and it’s such an immeasurable shame that he can’t spend more time here at the Emirates.
