Sead Kolasinac – 7

Sead Kolasinac is one of the more frustrating players in the squad. His physical tools are undeniable. Terrific strength and size, which he knows to take advantage of, great energy and stamina, deceptive speed, especially over longer distances, he is ideally suited to the left wing-back role.

And because of that, he did have some seriously impactful performances this season. But, I couldn’t help but want more from him. His delivery depreciated as the year progressed, a wasteful Europa League final showing the pinnacle of that, his defending was routinely exploited, with an overeagerness to wage into tackles and misguided positioning, and his pass completion was horrendous, often stunting progressive attacks with misplaced balls.

Kolasinac was still very good this year, and that is why he has been given one of the higher grades in the squad. You do not have five assists and 1.3 key passes per game without being effective. But I wanted more, and it never really came.
