Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 5.5

Quite frankly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was rubbish. A little like Ozil, everything he does is analysed through the prism of being paid enormous sums of money, in the region of £200,000-a-week, but even if you were to take the wages out of it and just consider his performances in a vacuum, you would still think he was rubbish.

There was a brief run of form where it looked like he might figure things out. After dealing with a foot injury during the Christmas and winter period, the Armenian returned to the team in February and looked surprisingly sharp, scoring against Southampton and putting in one of the best individual displays of the season in a 5-1 trouncing of Bournemouth just a few days later.

That, though, was just a glimmer of hope, and Mkhitaryan quickly reverted to his hapless self, dribbling into defenders, misplacing simple passes, and failing to control the ball like even an amateur would expect to. I don’t think anyone would be sad if he was sold this summer.
